Will construction workers become a thing of the past...

Meet the humanoid robot HRP-5P:

Researchers at Japan's Advanced Industrial Science & Technology Institute (AIST) are the people behind the creation of the humanoid robot HRP-5P. It is said to be able to handle a variety of construction tasks to be carried out in the instances of staff shortages and hazardous conditions.

While it can't move as freely as an actual human could, it can however move at degrees we wouldn't be able to, thanks to the numerous joints it has.

The creation of the robot is said to be due to the "manual shortages" that Japan experiences from its aging population.

Whether such robots actually serve to just fill shortages or end up taking over such jobs, only time will tell.
